In 1986, five travel professionals with a vision of providing personalised and value for money travel journeys, joined hands in founding “Swagatam Tours”. Mr. Pronab Sarkar, Mr. M.V.Hariharan, Mr. Shailendra Kumar, Mr. R. Parthiban and Mr. Achal Kumar Kochar – five visionaries, with years of experience in the travel trade and abundant knowledge acquired from travelling around the globe, turned ‘Swagatam Tours’ into one of the leading travel agencies of the country with a million dollar turnover.

Over the span of 32 years, Swagatam Tours has been bestowed with severable honourable accolades, like the National Tourism Award (4 times) and the prestigious Galileo Award for Best Regional Tour Operator (3 times) amongst various commendable national achievements.
